What exactly does a "public relations professional" do? | Carmella Glover interview

What exactly does a public relations professional do? And why does diversity in leadership make or break a brand’s success? I had the chance to talk to Carmella Glover, CEO of the Diversity Action Alliance, a nonprofit trade association working to diversify the communications and PR industry—especially at the senior leadership level. She explained what PR really is, why authentic storytelling matters for both brands and celebrities, and shared eye-opening examples of what happens when diverse voices aren’t at the decision-making table. We also talked about her journey from chemical engineering to PR leadership, why good communications are essential in any industry, and her advice for young people interested in a career where creativity meets impact. Thanks for the great conversation, Carmella — enjoy the interview!
